Synopsis
An alien comes to Earth for water to save his dying planet and his kin. He falls to Earth into a lake just like the aftermath of Icarus' flight. Calling himself Newton, he starts the tech company World Enterprises. With the superior technologies of his planet Newton amasses the funds to build a spaceship, with which he'd bring water back to his planet.

Newton thrives on water only so he has no prior knowledge of our habits. With the cajoling of his girlfriend and TV consumerism he succumbs to alcoholism and the plethora of TV images. Betrayed by an engineer he trusts, Newton is detained in a hotel, subject to tortuous examinations by scientists. Although he makes his escape but the ageless Newton never manages to flee Earth nor shake off its deadly habits.

Taking the angle of the alien-refugee, this Sci-Fi classic probes into the struggle of an outsider against the Earth's hedonism.

David Bowie's willowy and androgynous characterization of the alien radiates a seductive but fragile
