"In 2021, just days after the last American forces left Afghanistan, documentarian Ibrahim Nash’at was granted unprecedented access to film the transfer of power. While deliberately shielded from the daily suffering inflicted on the Afghani people, his camera was permitted to shadow Mawlawi Mansour, Commander of the country’s Air Force. What emerges from these daily tours of discarded facilities are chillingly mundane conversations about arrests, executions, and orchestrated destruction, while simultaneously witnessing first-hand how the Taliban immediately reappropriated the estimated $7 billion of military equipment and supplies that US forces left behind.
