Synopsis
Released before Víctor Erice shook the world with his feature debut The Spirit of The Beehive, this rare gem consists of three episodes directed by the Spanish maestro and his two peers emerging at the time. Linked by an American presence in Spain, the three separate stories share the common nexus of expressing how a normal situation evolves into an outbreak of violence. Erice’s segment is consciously channeling Pierrot Le Fou’s New Wave energy, centering around four youngsters who fool around in an abandoned house, trying to define their otherwise aimless post-1968 existence – all witnessed by a cool monkey.
